Social Security

UK social security is known as National Insurance and is payable by most UK employees in relation to their employment income.

However, as you are on assignment to the UK and continue to be employed by a non-UK employer, in some circumstances you may remain subject to social security in your home country.

Your personal liability to social security contributions will be covered under your company’s tax equalisation policy. Please refer to the FAQ section in this briefing to find out more about your employer’s specific tax equalisation policy and what this covers.
